Judge Shannon Murdock of Estancia, NM; ethical goblin

The State of New Mexico provided Shannon Murdock with a law license in 2003 after she graduated from the University of New Mexico School of Law.

Former Gov. Suzanna Martinez was duped into appointing Shannon as a Torrance County District Court Judge in 2017. Shannon didn’t receive the appointment because she was the most qualified attorney in the greater Albuquerque area. She received the appointment because he was deemed to be a reliable lackey by the local political hacks.

FYI: Shannon has had her significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for the past sixteen (16) years. Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the greater Albuquerque area was about to offer Shannon a good paying job.

In one matter, Shannon has been sued in a wrongful death claim. The lawsuit is based on Shannon hitting two bicyclists in 2019 on a highway with her 2015 Ford Expedition. (Stephanie Francis Ward)

According to the lawsuit filed by the family of Billy Weinman, a cyclist who died in the incident, Shannon turned over her personal cellphone to police at the scene of the accident, but did not tell the officers that she had a second, state-issued cellphone.

All that remains now is to see when and if the San Juan County DA’s office will hold Shannon criminally responsible for the death of Billy Weinman and whether a civil jury will hold her responsible.
