Attorney Paul Stein of Rockville, MD; ethical ogre

The state of Maryland presented Paul Theodore Stein with a law license in 1972 after he graduated from American University School of Law.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel (ODC) found Paulie guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to identify a conflict of interest between two firm clients
• Failed to properly supervise several junior attorneys
• Disclosed confidential client communications
• Exacerbated conflict of interest by taking positions for the benefit of one client and to the detriment of another

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Maryland Supreme punished Paulie by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As one would suspect, Paulie and his firm fails to mention the above misconduct on their self-serving website at www.steinsperling.com.   Apparently, they chose to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients for the purpose of not limiting his future victim pool.
