Attorney Terrence Scott of Columbus, OH; convicted shoplifter

The state of Ohio presented Terrence Kensley Scott with a law license in 2007 after he graduated from Capitol University School of Law.

FYI: Capitol University School of Law is ranked as the 161st best law school in the country out of 200 ABA (American Bar Association) accredited law schools.

The Ohio Disciplinary Counsel found Terry guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Stole multiple items from Walmart Store in Whitehall, Ohio
  • Before entering Walmart Store, Terry printed his own UPC barcodes for low-cost items
  • After scanning the items at the Uscan self-checkout, Terry paid a total of $27.35 on items that had an actual value of $367.21
  • After being confronted by Walmart loss officer, the items were taken from Terry and he was told that a police officer was waiting for him outside the store
  • After the officer identified himself as a police officer, Terry turned away from the officer who then fired his taser, striking Terry, who fell and hit his head on the concrete, causing a laceration
  • Upon his arrest, Terry was found to be in possession of over 100 additional unused UPC labels he had pre-printed at home.
  • Criminally charged with two first-degree misdemeanors, Theft by Deception and Possession of Criminal Tools, and one second-degree misdemeanor, Obstructing Official Business
  • Pled guilty to Criminal Mischief
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Acted with a dishonest or selfish motive

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished Terry by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 1-year suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Terry.

As we speak (ca. (March 2020), Terry practices at 373 South High Street in Columbus, Ohio.
