The state of Ohio presented Barbara Porzio with a law license in 1979 after she graduated from the State University of New York Buffalo School of Law.

The Disciplinary Counsel found Barbie guilty of the following misconduct.

• Engaged in illegal ex parte (one-sided) conversation
• Failed to act in manner the promoted public confidence in the judiciary
• Failed to act impartially
• Failed to avoid the appearance of impropriety
• Failed to disqualify herself from a matter when her impartiality could reasonably be questioned

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished Barbie by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.
