Attorney Bethany Verhoff of Spirit Lake, IA; slacker, repeat offender

The state of Iowa presented Bethany J. Verhoff with a law license in 1994 after she graduated from the University of Iowa School of Law.

The Iowa Supreme Court Attorney Disciplinary Board found Beth guilty of the following misconduct.

Beth’s 1^st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Failed to maintain complete records of client funds
• Failed to deposit all client funds into client trust account
• Failed to perform monthly trust account reconciliations

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the Cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Iowa Supreme Court punished Beth by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

Beth’s 2^nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Beth!)
• Advised clients he would start appeal process but failed to do so
• Failed to file timely notice of appeal on client’s behalf

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the Cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Iowa Supreme Court punished Beth by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

As one would suspect, Beth fails to mention the misconduct set forth above on her self-serving website at www.brandslawoffice.com. Apparently, Beth decided to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients so that she would not limit his future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. October 2020), Beth practices with the Brands Law Office at 1003 18^th Street in Spirit Lake, Iowa.
