Attorney Margaret Christopher of Seattle, WA; forgerer, repeat offender

The state of Washington presented Margaret Diamond Christopher with a law license in 1995 after she graduated from the University of Washington School of Law.

The Washington State Bar found Margie guilty of the following misconduct.

Margie’s 1^st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Falsified several documents
• Forged signature in connection with the filing of an offer of judgment
• Created an offer of judgment pleading, which she signed and backdated  
• Attached a stamped declaration of mailing on which she forged her secretary’s signature
• Created a declaration in support of attorney fees, which she falsely stated that the offer of judgment was a true and correct copy of the defendants’ offer to settle and that it had been served on the plaintiff  
• Created an entry in her billing records to falsely reflect that she had prepared and finalized the offer of judgment 
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice 
• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
• Made a false statement of material fact or law to a tribunalEngaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Washington Supreme Court punished Margie by gifting her with a complimentary 18-month suspension of her law license.  

Margie’s 2^nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree 

• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to communicate with client
• Failed to take reasonable steps to expedite litigation

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Washington Supreme Court punished Margie by gifting her with a complimentary 2-year suspension of her law license.  

FYI: Because Attorney Misfits in Washington are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Margie was never criminally charged with forgery.

As we speak (ca. March 2020), Margie practices at 117 East Louisa Street in Seattle, Washington.
