Solicitor Christopher Clews of New Zealand; ethical goblin

The New Zealand Law Society presented Christopher Michael Clews with a Barrister/Solicitor license in 1982 after he graduated from the University of Waikato School of Law.   

The New Zealand Lawyers and Conveyancers Disciplinary Tribunal found Chris guilty of the following conduct.

• Breached solicitor-client privilege, and one for a
• Engaged in reckless breach of conflict of interest rules
• Improperly released information to the Crown Law Office after his client had not officially given him a privilege waiver for him to do so
• Improperly reengaged with former client when another lawyer was involved in the matter

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Barrister/Solicitor Misfits sitting on the New Zealand Lawyers and Conveyancers Disciplinary Tribunal punished Chris by gifting him with a complimentary 4-month suspension of his law license.

As one would suspect, Chris and his firm fail to mention the misconduct set forth above on their self-serving at www.kitclews.co.nz.  Apparently, Chris and his firm decided to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients so that they would not limit their future victim pool.
