Immigration Judge Michael Pleters of El Paso, TX; ethical goblin

The state of Texas presented Michael S. Pleters with a law license in 1992 after he graduated from Cardoza University School of Law.

FYI: Judge Pleters has had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for the past twenty-eight (28) years. Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the greater El Paso area was about to offer him a good paying job.

According to an administrative complaint filed with Executive Office for Immigration Review, it is alleged that Judge Pleters engages in the following misconduct on a regular basis.

• Perpetuates a culture of fear among attorneys who believe their clients will face punishment if the attorneys complain about Mikey’s behavior
• Uses court procedures that violates the due process rights of litigants
• Behaves inappropriately by mocking mentally ill asylum-seekers
• Makes sexist comments toward female applicants.
• Calls attorneys dishonest and useless
• From 2013 thru 2017, Billy and his judicial comrades heard 8-8 asylum applications but granted only 31, or 3.8%, the lowest rate in the country

Apparently, Judge Pleters is of the belief that “due process” is the means by which the grass becomes moist in the a.m.

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Mikey by the apologists for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Executive Office for Immigration Review.

As speak (ca. March 2020), Mikey continues to sit as an Immigration Judge in El Paso, Texas.
