Attorney Michael Haas of Cedarburg, WI; lying scammer

The state of Wisconsin presented Michael R. Haas with a law license in 2007 after he graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Law.

The Office of Lawyer Registration (OLR) found Mikey guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Lied to client’s son-in-law that he had filed petition for the appointment of a receiver and dissolution of the partnership when in fact he had no so acted
  • Made several misrepresentations to the client and the client’s son-in-law
  • Lied to client’s son-in-law that two hearings on the matter had been held and that certain orders had issued from those hearings
  • Produced a fabricated court order in furtherance of his various misrepresentations [lies]
  • Falsely told the son-in-law that he had filed the lawsuit but had not timely effectuated service
  • Failed to advance the client’s efforts to dissolve her deceased husband’s partnership
  • Failed to provide the client with accurate case status information
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Mikey!)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished Mikey by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. February 2020), Mikey practices at 371 Cedar Pointe Avenue in Cedarburg, Wisconsin.
