Attorney Joe W. Soward II of Fort Worth; ethical dwarf, cheater

The state of Texas awarded Joe Weldon Soward II with a law license in 1997 after he graduated from St. Mary’s university.

In the recent past, the Texas State Bar found Joe guilty of the following misconduct involving three separate matters.
  1. Frequently failed to carry out obligations owed to his clients
  2. Failed to keep clients reasonably informed about status of their matters
  3. Failed to comply with reasonable request for information from his clients
  4. When fired failed to refund unearned fees to clients in two matters
  5. Failed to explain matters to clients to afford them to make informed decisions
  6. Engaged in the unlawful practice of law while license suspended
  7. Failed to time file written response to the complaints
As a consequence of his egregious misconduct, the apologists sitting on the Texas State Bar punished Joey by gifting him with a fully probated two-year suspension. Put simply, Joey didn’t receive any real punishment at all.

Now we know why most Texans find the attorney disciplinary process to be an unmitigated joke.

As we speak (ca. March 2012) Joe practices law at 5529 Pershing Avenue in Fort Worth.
