Judge Alfonso Gonzalez of Toledo, OH; drunken convict

The state of Ohio presented Alfonso Jesus Gonzalez with a law license in 2000 after he graduated from the University of Toledo School of Law.

Gov. Mike DeWine was duped into appointing Alfonso as a Lucas County Common Pleas judge in the Domestic Relations Division in March 2019. Alfonso didn’t get the appointment because he was the most qualified attorney in the greater Toledo area. He got it because he had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

FYI: The University of Toledo Law School is ranked as the 145th best law school in the country out of 200 ABA (American Bar Association) accredited law schools.

It should be noted that Alfonso has had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for the past nineteen (19) years. Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the greater Toledo area was about to offer him a good paying job.

The Board of Professional Conduct of the Ohio Supreme Court found Alfonso guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

Alfonso was stopped by Highway Patrolman, Sgt. Michael Jordan for marked lane violations and failing to signal when exiting I-75 in Findlay

After Sgt. Jordan ordered Alfonso to sit in the front seat of his patrol cruiser, Alfonso engaged in the following dialogue with the Sgt.

ALFONSO:

“I am going to tell you who I am.”

SGT. JORDAN:

“Alfonso Gonzalez.”

ALFONSO:

“Yes.”

SGT. JORDAN:

“Do I need to know more than that?”

ALFONSO:

“Well, yes, I mean, I hate to make this political, and I don’t want to go there, but I just got appointed judge in Lucas County by Gov. DeWine in March.”

“I’m so embarrassed. I hate to play; I’m not playing that card; I truly do not want to do that.”

“Please, please. My parents live about a mile down the road.”

SGT. JORDAN:

“I understand, but I have a job to do.”

Later, while still seating in Sgt. Jordan’s patrol cruiser, Alfonso stated:

“I’m not asking for favors, I’m just saying it will kill me, really will. I just got appointed.”

Alfonso was subsequently charged with driving under the influence (DUI) and pled guilty

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Alfonso by the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court.

As we speak (ca. February 2020), Alfonso continues to sit as a Lucas County Domestic Relations Common Pleas judge in Toledo, Ohio when sober.
