Magistrate Judge George Lyall of Taylors, SC; cheating loser

The State of South Carolina provided George K. Lyall with a law license in 1985 after he graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law.

Disciplinary Counsel found Judge Georgie guilty of the following misconduct, most of which related to his conduct as co-trustee of Mr. Padgett in setting aside funds for the benefit of George’s children and/or is dealings with a former law firm.

• Converted $23,000 check from Padgett to invest in stock to her personal use
• Converted $26,057.01 check from proceeds of sale of real estate to his and his wife’s personal use
• Over six-year period, as managing partner, made forty-five check transactions resulting in his improper withdrawal total of $47,587.42 for his personal use
• Improperly created and backdated an assignment and bill of sale of his interest in a partnership
• Endorsed his wife’s signature on a check without her prior consent
• Engaged in conduct involving a criminal act that reflects adversely upon his honesty, trustworthiness, and fitness as a lawyer
• Engaged in conduct involving moral turpitude
• Acted in a dishonest and fraudulent manner
• Engaged in conduct tending to pollute the administration of justice or to bring the courts and legal profession into disrepute

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Judicial Misfits sitting on the South Carolina Supreme Court punished Georgie by presenting him with a complimentary 90-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. January 2020), Georgie continues to sit as a Jasper County Magistrate judge in Ridgeland, South Carolina.
