Attorney Karim Tannous of Louisville, CO; ethical troll

The state of Colorado presented Karim J. Tannous with a law license in 1996 after he graduated from the University of Colorado School of Law.

The Colorado State Bar found Karim guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Neglected a client’s criminal case
  • Failed to appear at scheduled court hearings
  • Failed to keep client informed of court dates and other matters
  • Collected a substantial fee to perform the entire case and then abandoning his client after providing minimal work
  • Effectively terminated relationship with his client in failing to appear at court dates
  • Failed to communicate with his client
  • Due to gross negligence and abandonment of client, the client was successful in obtaining a favorable plea bargain without Karim’s assistance

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Colorado Supreme Court punished Karim by gifting him with a complimentary 30-day suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. January 2020), Karim practices at 562 Fairfield Lane in Louisville, Colorado.
