Judge Alexandra Smoots-Thomas of Houston; thieving loser

The State of Texas provided Alexandra Smoots-Thomas with a law license in 1998 after she graduated from South Texas University School of Law.

FYI: South Texas is ranked as the 165th best law school in the country out of 200 ABA (American Bar Association) accredited law schools.

  • Indicted on seven counts of federal wire fraud for misspending campaign donations
  • Spent campaign donations on personal expenses
  • Embezzled campaign contributions individuals and political action committees had made to her re-election campaigns
  • Spent $761.74 on Zales Jewelry,
  • Spent $1,163.91 dollars on a Prada purse
  • Spent roughly $1,213.82 on vacation airfare
  • Spent $9,941.99 on school tuition
  • Spent $11,809 on her home mortgage

If convicted, each of the seven charge carries a punishment of up to 20 years in federal prison and a fine of up to $250,000, meaning she’d die in prison with no ability to pay a fine in excess of $1 million.

As a direct result of her arrest and felony charges, the Texas Supreme Court ordered that Judge Smoots-Thomas be suspended from the bench without pay pending the resolution of said criminal charges.

All that remains now is to see how long it takes for Smoots-Thomas to cop a plea in order to reduce the amount of time she’ll have to spend at the Seagoville Federal Correctional Institution for Women in Seagoville, Texas.
