Attorney Kimberly Smith of Longview, TX; ethical goblin

The state of Texas presented Kimberly Dian Smith with a law license in 2002 after she graduated from Texas Tech University School of Law.

The District 1 Grievance Committee found Kimmy guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to carry out completely the obligations that she owed to her client
  • Failed to keep her client reasonably informed about the status of her case
  • Failed to promptly comply with reasonable client information requests

As one would suspect this wasn’t Kimmy’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. She previously received a complimentary 6 -month and a 9-month stayed suspensions of her law license for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Kimmy by gifting her with a complimentary stayed 2-year suspension of her law license.

In truth, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Kimmy.

As we speak (ca. December 2019), Kimmy is employed by the Gregg County Criminal District Attorney’s Office at 101 Eat Methvin in Longview, Texas.
