Attorney Michael Presutti of Oviedo, FL; ethical elf

The state of Florida provided Michael Joseph Presutti with a law license in 1989 after he graduated from the University of Toledo School of Law.

FYI: The University of Toledo Law School is ranked as the 145th best law school in the country out of 200 ABA (American Bar Association) accredited law schools.

The Florida State Bar found Mikey guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, while representing a client in an estate proceeding that involved considerable litigation, the probate court assessed the full amount of the opposing party’s attorney’s fees and costs against Presutti personally, but not his client. In his appeal, Presutti included his client in the style of the appeal without obtaining a waiver from the client of the conflict of interest created by inclusion as an appellant. The appellate court granted the opposing party’s motion for attorney’s fees against Presutti and his client.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Florida Supreme punished Mikey by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. December 2019), Mikey practices at 980 Elm Street in Oviedo, Florida.
