Attorney Cathy Krinick of Newport News, VA; ethical troll

The state of Virginia presented Cathy Ellen Krinick with a law license in 1995 after she graduated from the University of Richmond School of Law.

The Virginia State Bar Disciplinary found Cathy guilty of the following misconduct.

At the time of her misconduct, Eileen was the Commonwealth’s attorney for York County and the City of Poquoson.

In one matter, Michael Tyler was shot and killed as he approached a vehicle in York County. There were three individuals in the vehicle that the shot came from killing Tyler, Marquis Edwards, Kwaume Edwards and Carlos Chapman. After the shooting, police found the murder weapon in the back seat of the car.

All three men initially told police that Marquis was the shooter. Cathy was named as an assistant to the lead prosecutor in the murder cases against all three defendants.

During the pendency of the criminal cases set forth above, Cathy chose to violate her oath of office by concealing exculpatory evidence from one or more the defendants that she knew as prosecutor that she had a duty to disclose. In other words, in her zeal to place a notch on her conviction belt, Cathy wasn’t much concerned about complying with her oath to assist the courts in dispensing justice. In fact, Cathy was more concerned with “dispensing with justice.”

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Virginia Bar Disciplinary Board punished Cathy by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.  

As we speak (ca. December 2019), Cathy practices with The Law Offices of Krinick & Segall at 11848 Rock Landing Drive in Newport News, Virginia.
