Attorney Matthew MacDowell of Fairfax, VA; ethical troll

The state of Virginia presented Matthew MacDowell with a law license in 1982 after he graduated from American University Law School.

The Virginia State Bar Disciplinary found Matty guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to safeguard client funds
• Engaged in a conflict of interest
• Engaged in prohibited transactions with one or more clients
• Failed to promptly refund unearned fee
• Failed to perform required trust account reconciliations
• Improperly acquired an ownership, possessory, security or other pecuniary interest adverse to a client

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Virginia Bar Disciplinary Board punished Matty by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. February 2020), Matty practices with the MacDowell Law Group PC at 10500 Sager Avenue in Fairfax, Virginia.
