Judge Teresa Pooler of Miami, FL; ethical gremlin

The state of Florida provided Teresa Pooler with a law license in 1986 after she graduated from the University of Miami School of Law.

The Florida Judicial Qualifications Commission found Judge Pooler guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to respect the law
  • Failed to comply with the law
  • Failed to act in manner that promotes public confidence in the integrity of the judiciary
  • Engaged in quasi-judicial activities that case reasonable doubt on her capacity to act impartially as a judge
  • Engaged in conduct that undermined her judicial independence
  • Failed to conduct her quasi-judicial activities to that they did not appear to a reasonable person to be coercive

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Florida Supreme Court punished Terry by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. November 2019), Terry continues to sit as judge for the Eleventh Circuit Court in Miami, Florida.
