Solicitor Lau Kin Wing of Hong Kong; ethical troll 

The Law Society of Hong Kong presented Lau Kin Wing with a law license in 1993 after he graduated from the University of Hong Kong School of Law.

The Law Society Disciplinary Counsel found Lau Kin Wing guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• While acting for a vendor in the sale of a property, failed to comply with an undertaking to send an agreement for sale and purchase duly signed by the vendor to the purchaser’s solicitors within the stipulated time imposed on
• Failed to comply an undertaking to send documents to purchaser’s solicitors within stipulated time imposed on him.
• Failed to comply with an undertaking to send title documents to the purchaser’s solicitors within the stipulated time imposed on him
• Failed to comply with an undertaking to send 6 certified true copies of documents to the purchaser’s solicitors within the stipulated time imposed on him.
• Failed to pay the deferred stamp duty in respect of the principal agreement for sale and purchase within the time limit stipulated in the Stamp Duty Ordinance
• Negligence led to purchaser not being able to stamp assignment and have it registered within one month of its making

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Board punished Lau Kin Wing by gifting him with a complimentary censure, a fine of HK81,000.00 ($10,348.00 US) and costs of HK$150,000 ($19,165.00 US).

As we speak (ca. February 2020), Lau Kin Wing practices with Poon S.T. & Wong at 161-167 Des Voeux Rad Road Central in Hong Kong.
