Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi of San Francisco; wife-beater, convict  Ross Mirkarimi was elected as San Francisco County Sheriff in November 2011 and took office on Jan 7, 2012.
One week after taking office, Ross was arrested and charged with domestic violence, child endangerment and dissuading a witness (aka, threatening a witness to influence his/her testimony).
As is the case with most cowardly wife beaters, Ross blamed the criminal charges on his political opponents. Despite his sham protestations, the judge in the case issued a stay-away order requiring Ross not to have any contact with his wife or two-year-old son.
However, Ross the Coward subsequently pleaded guilty to false imprisonment of his wife and was sentenced to three years probation.
On Jan 23, a second woman filed a police report claiming that Charming Ross had abused her. She said that Ross displayed a “raging pitbull aggressiveness” toward her, turning violent on at least one occasion, when he “grabbed both her upper arms, shook her and pinned her against the wall.”
On March 20, San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee suspended Ross from his position as Sheriff pending an ethics investigation after Ross refused to resign. Ross said his criminal conviction didn’t involve “official conduct.”
It’s comforting to know that the San Francisco County Sheriff’s position doesn’t require the Sheriff to be an accomplished wife-beater.
All that’s left now is to see if Ross is bounced from the Sheriff’s office based on the pending ethics investigation.
