Judge John Lipscombe of Austin, TX; guilty of questioning Kavanaugh’s appointment

The state of Texas provided John H. Lipscombe with a law license in 1986 after he graduated from the St. Mary’s University School of Law.

FYI: St. Mary’s is ranked as the 167th best law school in the country out of 200 ABA (American Bar Association) accredited law schools.

The Texas Commission on Judicial Conduct found Judge Lipscombe guilty of the following misconduct, all of which was in reference to the confirmation of Brett “I Like Beer” Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.

  • Allowed partisan interests and public clamor to influence him
  • His actions cast public discredit on the judiciary
  • Closed his court and draped black fabric over its doors after Kavanaugh confirmation and did so as silent protest
  • Told reporter Kavanaugh’s confirmation was “big step back for this country,” and disrespectful to women and men

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the nine (9) Republican Trump lovers on the Texas Supreme Court punished Judge Lipscombe by reprimanding him.

It should be noted, that the Texas Supremes are not particularly invested in free speech when it comes to saying something untoward about The Great Leader. I’m sure that they had a completely different attitude when fellow Republican Judges in Texas spoke disparagingly about President Obama.

As we speak (ca. November 2019), Johnny continues to sit as a Travis County Court-at-Law No. 3 judge in Austin, Texas.
