Rep. Paul Ryan’s budget plan Sticks it to the Poor and Middle Class

Rep. Ryan has been a member of Congress from Wisconsin since Jan 1999. Paulie is the darling of right-wing ideologues who demand that the federal budget be balanced on the back of the poor, working poor and the middle class.

On March 20, 2012, Paulie introduced a budget on behalf of the Republican majority in Congress. That budget calls for a permanent gift to millionaires and billionaires by cutting their tax rate from 35% to 25%. Is it any wonder that a multi-millionaire like Mitt Romney fully endorses Paulie’s tax cut?

In order to pay for the tax cuts for the wealthy, Paulie knew he’d have to make up for the lost revenue by making significant cuts in government spending. Therefore, Paulie decided to:
  • Cut Medicaid and health programs for the poor by $770 billion over 10 years
  • Take an additional $205 billion from Medicare
  • Cuts in Pell grants to middle-income families
  • Reductions in food stamps and federal employee pensions
At least Paulie the Humanitarian exempted the Defense Department from any cuts. Could we really afford to reduce our stockpile of nuclear bombs from 6,500 to 6,450 and feel safe?

It should have been apparent early on to everyone on the left that Paulie would wholeheartedly endorse sticking it in the derrieres of those Americans earning less than $80,000 a year. This undeniable fact is supported by Paulie’s employment for Oscar Mayer as a Wienermobile driver while attending Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

Paulie sez by cutting support for the poor and the elderly he is actually helping them. I don’t think that Paulie is going to be nominated for the Mother Teresa Humanitarian Award this year, do you?
