Judge George Powell of Houston, TX; idiotic loser

The state of Texas provided George Leroy Powell with a law license in 2001 after he graduated from Texas Southern University School of Law.

FYI: Texas Southern is ranked as the 168^th best law school in the country out of 200 ABA (American Bar Association) accredited law schools.

The Texas Commission on Judicial Conduct found Judge Powell guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to comply with the law re: bail bond practices
• Failed to maintain competence in the law (idiot)
• Violated hearing officers’ authority under Texas law
• Instructions on bail bond counted as willful and persistent conduct, which wasn’t consistent with George’s duties as a judge
• Conduct cast public discredit on the judiciary
• Failed to give defendants time to consult with lawyers regarding bail
• Failed to grant bail within 24 hours of arrest, when allowed by law

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Judge Powell by gifting him with a complimentary public reprimand.

As we speak (ca. October 2019), George continues to sit as a 351^st District Court Judge in Houston, Texas.
