Newt Gingrich: Today’s “Rodney Dangerfield” Award Winner

Congratulations to….

Newt Gingrich
Today’s “Rodney Dangerfield” Award Winner

In one of his best comedic performances of the year, Newtie feigned outrage at comment made by Robert De Niro at an Obama fundraiser held at one of De Niro’s New York City restaurants. Just before the 1st Lady was introduced, De Niro said, “Callista Gingrich. Karen Santorum. Ann Romney. Now do you really think our country is ready for a white First Lady? Too soon, right?”

We all know that De Niro doesn’t earn a living as a comedian like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Sarah Palin and Ann Coulter do.

Newt responded to De Niro’s statement by saying, “What De Niro said last night was inexcusable and the president should apologize for him. It was at an Obama fundraiser, it is exactly wrong, it divides the country.” Newt was basically singing to the choir in Shreveport, Louisiana while he was

Maybe Newtie is right in his feigned outrage. After all, how many more Caucasian First Ladies can America afford? I’m sorry, I mean how many more African-American First Ladies. As they say, “One and done,” right Newtie?

I personally found Newtie’s “it divides the country” to be one of his best comedic one-liners of all time. It’s even better than “Obama is the food stamp President,” right?

I don’t think Jon Stewart should worry that the Comedy Channel will cancel his show and replace him with Newt. The same is true for Bill Maher and HBO.

The only network offering a steady stream of comedy shows that may offer Newt a job as a standup comic would be Fox News.

Congrats Newtie; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as an unaccomplished standup comedian; you are far too humble.
