Attorney Allan Garber of Alberta, CAN; ethical gremlin

The Law Society of Alberta presented Allan Garber with a law license in 1985 after he graduated from the University of Alberta School of Law.

The Alberta Law Society Disciplinary Counsel found Allan guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to comply with trust conditions and that such conduct
• Failed to discharge his duties as the responsible lawyer of his trust account
• Acted in a potential conflict of interest without obtaining his clients’ consent or in circumstances where it was not in the best interests of his clients
• Engaged in a business transaction with his client(s) without recommending independent legal advice
• Breached the accounting rules of the Law Society

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Board punished Allan by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand assessed costs of $5,000.00.

As we speak (ca. September 2019), Allan practices with the Allan Garber Professional Corporation at 17707 105^th Street in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
