The state of California presented David Rey Silva with a law license in 1991 after he graduated from Pepperdine University School of Law.

The State Bar found Davey guilty of the following misconduct.

• Engaged in multiple acts of wrongdoing
• Wrote three checks on insufficient fund account (rubber)
• Committed an act involving moral turpitude, dishonesty or corruption
• Commingled client funds with personal funds
• Failed to pay client medical lienholders remaining settlement funds
• Breached fiduciary duties to his client and her lienholders
• Failed to account for remaining settlement funds for eleven months
• Failed to render appropriate accounting to client
• Failed to maintain client trust account ledger cards
• Failed to maintain monthly trust account journals
• Failed to maintain complete records of all client funds

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the State Bar Court punished Davey by gifting him with a complimentary 90-day suspension of his law license.
