Attorney Brock Edwards of British Columbia, CAN; ethical troll

The Law Society of British Columbia presented Brock A. Edwards with a law license in 2004 after he graduated from the University of British Columbia School of Law.

The British Columbia Law Society Disciplinary Counsel found Brock guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Acted in manner that Justice Schultes found frustrated or misused the court process regarding matrimonial proceedings involving Brock
• Paid costs to the Family Maintenance and Enforcement Program rather than to the opposing party or her counsel
• Engaged in untoward conduct for purpose of increasing litigation costs to opposing party (ex-wife)
• Intentionally set out to frustrate ex-wife and counsel in divorce matter
• Drafted and forwarded memo to opposing party, in which he stated his intention to bring another application which he believed would result in the opposing party having to pay her lawyer more in fees than the sum of a prior costs order of the court
• Filed two requisitions which were purportedly by consent, in circumstances where he knew or ought to have known that no such consent had been provided
• Threatened and instituted legal proceedings for an improper purpose
• Used the court process as a means of harassing and intimidating the opposing party (ex-wife)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Law Society punished Brock by gifting him with a complimentary $5,500 fine plus $2,500.00 in costs.
