Attorney George Gregory of British Columbia, CAN; ethical goblin

The Law Society of British Columbia presented George F.T. Gregory with a law license in 1982 after he graduated from the University of British Columbia School of Law.

The British Columbia Law Society Disciplinary Counsel found George guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Failed to act appropriately on client’s behalf in a foreclosure proceeding
• Failed to make reasonable inquiries to obtain information about your client or his associate
• Failed to make reasonable inquiries about the subject matter and objectives of your retainer
• Failed make a record of the results of inquiries made
• Failed to make reasonable efforts to obtain, or record, client identification information in relation to his client

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Law Society punished George by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand and a $2,500 fine plus $1,500.00 in costs.

As one would suspect, George fails to mention the aforementioned misconduct on his self-serving website at www.gregorylaw.ca/lawyers.html. Apparenlty, George decided to conceal this relevant information from prospective clients for fear it would limit his future victim pool.
