Attorney Stephen Bronstein of British Columbia, CAN; slacker, loser

The Law Society of British Columbia presented Stephen J. Bronstein with a law license in 1998 after he graduated from the University of British Columbia School of Law.

The British Columbia Law Society Disciplinary Counsel found Stevie of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to properly investigate the background, qualifications and suitability of a person prior to employing him to work with and have unsupervised access to your clients
  • Failed to maintain personal control and management over your office
  • Failed to serve your clients in a conscientious manner
  • Failed to properly document important communications regarding legal matters, including contact and attempted contact with or from clients, and failed to direct staff to do the same;
  • Failed to maintain office staff and facilities adequate to your practice;
  • Failed to answer communications that required a reply within a reasonable time;
  • Improperly delegated duties to non-lawyers by allowing them to explain contingency fee agreement to clients
  • Failed to routinely inform and consult with client, obtain instructions from the client, and give the client as much control as appropriate on the direction of the client’s case
  • Failed to take adequate steps to determine if client was entitled to an expedited process
  • Unnecessarily certified and filed client claim twice, thereby creating a risk that his claim could be compromised
  • Failed to provide some or all settlement proceeds to client in a timely manner
  • Failed to advise client of legal remedies available and deadlines applicable to her
  • Failed to adequately address, respond to or investigate complaints made about your employees
  • While representing 17 clients certified by signing Independent Assessment Process application forms and stated in the certification that you had reviewed the completed application with your client when in fact you had not done so

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Law Society punished Vinnie by gifting him with a complimentary $3,500 fine plus $4,000.00 in costs.

As we speak (ca. August 2019), Stevie practices with Stephen Bronstein Law PC Law Corporation at 1040 West Georgia in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
