Judge Gary Friedman of Bakersfield, CA; practicing sadist
The following facts clearly indicate that Kern County Superior Court judge is a demented and despotic sadist. On two separate occasions (I’m sure there’s more), judge Gary Friedman (aka, the Sadist) engaged in the following despicable conduct.
When a criminal defendant who was acting as his own attorney appeared by Judge Gary Friedman for sentencing, he told the Sadist he had been unable to read the probation report because he had observed and smelled a snake outside his cell. The defendant went on to tell Judge Gary Friedman that his fear of snakes kept him awake all night.
This may well have been a case of mistaken identity on the part of the defendant since it is well known that several lawyers were in the area at the time.
For the sole purpose of gratifying his sadistic instincts, Judge Gary Friedman decided to play a sick joke on the defendant by causing the head of a rattlesnake to be shown to the defendant while he was locked up in a holding cell. This despicable conduct by Judge Gary Friedman caused an emotional outburst by the defendant, which is exactly the result this sadist expected.
In another instance, after learning that a defendant had an obsession with a TV personality, Judge Gary Friedman obtained publicity photo the personality and then pressured a court employee to write a personal inscription on it from the TV star to the defendant. This perverted conduct (is there another kind when speaking of Judge Gary Friedman?) was meant to play on the defendant’s bizarre obsession. Judge Gary Friedman then caused the photo to be passed on to the defendant (aka, victim).
Sadly, this immoral, sadistic pervert remains on the bench in Riverside. The impotent wimps sitting on the California Judicial Commission punished Judge Gary Friedman by presenting him with a complimentary “public reproval.” Whew, I bet that was painful, right?
