Attorney Roland Uresk of Roosevelt, UT; slacker, loser

The State of Utah presented Roland F. Uresk with a law license in 1980 after he graduated from Brigham Young University (BYU) School of Law.

The Ethics and Discipline Committee of the Utah Supreme Court found Roland guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to communicate with client
  • Failed to provide client with full accounting of work he claimed to have performed for the client
  • Failed to file an opposition or any responses on the client’s behalf to Plaintiffs’ Motion to Admit Admissions, Grant Default judgment and for
  • Sanctions
  • Gross negligence led to default judgment being entered against his client
  • Failed to timely notify the client of the court’s Order granting Plaintiffs’ default judgment or the two awards for attorney fees entered against the client
  • Failed to respond to Plaintiffs’ Motion to Compel on client’s behalf
  • Failed to respond to discovery requests on behalf of his client
  • Did not adequately prepare for the legal representation of the client’s case
  • Failed to review the docket of the case after being hired and before entering his appearance

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Utah Supreme Court punished Roland by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. October 2019) Roland practices with Basin Law PLLC at 47 North 200 East in Roosevelt, Utah.
