Judge Woody Gossom Jr. of Wichita Falls, TX; ethical gremlin

In one matter, 78th District Court Judge W. Bernard Fudge asked the Supreme Court of Texas to conduct an inquiry into the conduct of Woody.

According to Judge Fudge’s sworn statement, Woody is in violation of Texas Government Code Section 26.006 which states that a county judge is to receive an 18 percent annual compensation only if at least 40 percent of their functions are judicial.

Judge Fudge asserted that the only judicial function Woody completes is presiding over juvenile detention hearings. Fudge further stated that Woody’s judicial functions do not equal 40% of his duties as mandated under Texas law.

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Woody by the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court. At worst, Woody may be provided with a complimentary admonishment.

As we speak (ca. July 2019), Woody continues to sit as a 78th District Court judge in Wichita Falls, Texas.
