Attorney Thomas James of Cokato, MN; moron, repeat offender

The state of Minnesota presented Thomas B. James with a law license in 1986 after he graduated from Hamline University School of Law.

The Office of Lawyer Regulation found Tommy guilty of the following misconduct.

Tommy’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

Neglected client matter

Neglect led to default judgment being rendered against client

Failed to communicate with client

Made false statements to ethics investigator (Screw you, said Tommy!)

Failed to provide competent representation (moron)

Failed to act with due diligence

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Minnesota Supreme Court punished Tommy by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. August 2019), Tommy practices with the Law Office of Tom James at 440 Broadway Avenue North in Cokato, Minnesota.

  • Neglected client matters
  • Made numerous misrepresentations [lied] to the court
  • Failed to communicate with clients
  • Failed to appear at court scheduled hearings
  • Failed to deposit client funds in separate client trust account
  • Made numerous misrepresentations [lied] to his clients
  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Tommy!)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Minnesota Supreme Court punished Tommy by gifting him with a complimentary 3-year suspension of his law license.

As one would suspect, Tommy fails to mention the aforementioned misconduct on his self-serving website at www.tomjameslaw.com. Apparently, Tommy decided to conceal this highly relevant information from prospective clients for the purpose of not limiting his future victim pool.
