Judge Thomas O’Diam of Xenia, OH; pompous loser

The state of Ohio presented Thomas O’Diam with a law license in 1985 after he graduated from the University of Dayton School of Law.

FYI: The University of Dayton Law School is ranked as the 165th best law school in the country out of 200 ABA (American Bar Association) accredited law schools.

Former Gov. John Kasich was duped into appointing Tommy as a Greene County Common Pleas Court judge on July 16, 2013. Tommy didn’t receive the appointment because he was the most qualified attorney in the greater Greene County area. He received it because he had proven to be a reliable lackey for the local political hacks.

The Disciplinary Counsel found Scotty guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Pompous Tommy decided he would issue an order allowing him to have exclusive use of Courtroom 3 in the Green County Courthouse when the common pleas court general division judges already had control of the courtroom and objected to Tommy’s self-serving directives.

Subsequently, the Greene County Board of Commissioners sought relief from Tommy’s imperialist order by seeking it blocked.

The Supreme Court ruled in favor of the Board of Commissioners and in doing so said in part:

“We hold that a judge does not have inherent authority — and thereby lacks jurisdiction — to issue an order allowing him to take control of courthouse space when the space is already under the control of another court, or a different division of the common-pleas court.”

This is exactly the kind of imperialistic thinking judge that obtains his job via the inner workings of the local political hacks in Greene County.

As we speak (ca. July 2019), Pompous Tommy continues to sit as a Greene County Common Please judge in Xenia, Ohio.
