Attorney Thomas Pigott of Toledo; rubber check thief

The state of Ohio presented Thomas Daniel Pigott with a law license in 1994 after he graduated from the University of Toledo School of Law.

FYI: The University of Toledo Law School is ranked as the 145th best law school in the country out of 200 ABA (American Bar Association) accredited law schools.

The Toledo Bar Association found Tommy guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
  • Failed to enter into written contingent-fee agreements with two clients
  • Failed to have clients sign closing statements
  • Wrote one or more checks on insufficient funds account
  • Failed to disburse funds owing to his clients
  • Misappropriated [stole] client funds
  • Misconduct involved multiple offenses

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Tommy’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a complimentary reprimand for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished Tommy by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. July 2019), Tommy practices in Toledo, Ohio.
