Attorney Kemic Smothers of New Orleans, LA; ethical troll

The state of Louisiana presented Kemic Alan Smothers with a law license in 2002 after he graduated from Louisiana State University School of Law.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Kemic guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in illegal practice of law while license suspended
  • Failed to respond to ethics complaint (Screw you, said Kemic!)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Louisiana Supreme Court punished Kemic by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 6-month suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Louisiana Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Kemic.

As we speak (ca. October 2019), Kemic practices his brand of law at 2651 Poydras Street in New Orleans, Louisiana.
