Attorney Melissa Theriot of Lafayette, LA; cheerleader for convicted racketeers

The state of Louisiana presented Melissa Lutgring Theriot with a law license in 1993 after she graduated from the University of Texas School of Law.

In one matter, Melissa was a member of a disciplinary committee panel that was considering the reinstatement of attorney Arthur Gilmore Jr., a convicted racketeer who was sentenced to 24-months in federal prison. An article dealing with Mr. Gilmore can be viewed by visiting the URL at the end of this article.

Apparently, Melissa is more concerned with Mr. Gilmore being reinstated to practice law than he is with his tendency to engage in racketeering activities. Seemingly, Melissa is under the impression that Mr. Gilmore has an absolute constitutional right to earn a dishonest living practice law.

As we speak (ca. June 2019), Melissa practices her brand of law at 800 Lafayette Street in Lafayette, Louisiana.
