Attorney Ernest Ianetti of Denville, NJ; ethical gremlin

The State of New Jersey presented Ernest G. Ianetti with a law license in 1986 after he graduated from Rutgers University School of Law.

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Ernie guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in a conflict of interest
  • Entered into a prohibited business transaction with a client
  • Failed to obtain written informed client consent re: prohibited business transaction
  • Knowingly made a false statement of material fact in disciplinary investigation (Screw you, said Ernie!)
  • Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation
  • Failed to safeguard client funds
  • Negligently misappropriated (stole) $27,000 in client funds

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Ernie by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. June 2019) Ernie practices with the Law Office of Ernest G. Ianetti in Denville, New Jersey.
