Attorney Martin Thompson Jr. of Bend, OR: ethical gnome

The state of Oregon presented Martin E. Thompson Jr. with a law license in 2009 after he graduated from Willamette University School of Law.

The Oregon State Bar found Marty guilty of the following misconduct.

• Commingled client funds with personal funds
• Accepted fee and then failed to provide any services in probate matter
• Neglected legal matter entrusted to him
• Failed to keep client advised of status of matter
• Failed to comply with client information requests
• Failed to explain matter to extent necessary to afford client to make informed decisions regarding the representation
• Misconduct involved multiple offenses

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Oregon Supreme Court punished Marty by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. June 2019), Marty practices at 1123 NW Bond Street in Bend, Oregon.
