Rep. David Schweikert (R-AZ): Today’s “Public Official Misfit” Award Winner

Davey succeeded in duping the voters in the northeastern area of Phoenix into electing him as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives in November 2010.

The House Ethics Committee recently (ca. April 2019) confirmed that its unanimous decision last year to investigate Davey came to fruition because they had “substantial reason” to believe he had misused congressional resources for his campaign. Some of Davey’s alleged misuse of congressional resources are:

  • Pressured congressional staff to perform political activities on his behalf
  • Authorized compensation to an employee who did not perform duties comparable with his House employment
  • Congressional employee gave Davey or his campaign improper loans or gifts
  • Paid Oliver Schwag, former chief of staff substantially more than a congressional staffer is permitted to earn in outside income
  • Improperly authorized expenditures from his Members’ Representational Allowance (“MRA”), made by or on behalf of his Chief of Staff Oliver Schwab
  • Repeatedly authorized impermissible MRA expenditures
  • Violated House rules regarding standards of conduct
  • Failed to ensure that his campaign committee complied with applicable rules regarding contributions from congressional employees

All that remains now is to see how long it takes Sleazy Davey to resign. However, when he does his future employment opportunities would likely include the following.

  • Political advisor for the Fox News Comedy Channel
  • Greeter at the Walmart Supercenter on 35th Avenue in Phoenix
  • Doorman at the Le Girls Gentleman’s Club on East Washington Street in Phoenix

And if those employment opportunities do not work out, he can always enroll for classes at the Universal Barber College on South 7th Avenue in Phoenix.
