Former Judge Matt Zepeda of Pearland, TX; potty mouth racist

During his tenure on the bench, Judge Matt Zepeda was charged with misconduct by the Judicial Commission, some of which is addressed below.

Matt’s Racist, Demeaning Comments

Matt was caught on video screaming at one inmate and uttering a racial slur at another.

He was also caught screaming at an inmate during a jailhouse bond hearing saying, “Who the fuck are you? You have no fucking rights.” “You don’t have the right to question who the fuck I am.”

In another incident, Matt is seen berating another inmate for not rising from his bunk fast enough when he approached his cell. “Hey don’t fuck with me,” Matt said. “I’m the judge. Get over here right now if you don’t want additional charges. You gonna act like a fuckin nigger.”

When the inmate rolls over, it’s apparent to Matt that he was not black. Matt is then heard telling a Pearland cop that he called the inmate that name because he thought he was black.
The perfect judicial defense! Since the inmate wasn’t black, calling him a “fuckin nigger” is perfectly acceptable, right?

Matt the Comic says, “I’m Not a Racist”

Matt denied that he is a racist. He defends his action by saying that his use of the term “fuckin-nigger” was unfortunate and merely a slip of the tongue. Slip of the tongue my ass!

Matt says that any suggestion that he’s a racist and/or believes in white-power is nothing more than an unconscionable attack on his ethics and humanity. Just ask his friend at the Houston Airport (especially the fellow that shines his shoes).

Matt’s racist supporters hold fundraiser

Outside of the KKK, you really have to wonder who in the hell would go out of their way to show support for a pinhead like Matt. Well friends, this ain’t San Francisco, Minneapolis or Boston, this is Pearland, Texas.

Matt’s supporters announced they were holding a fund-raiser on his behalf at the Pearland Lions Club on Jan. 18, which is the holiday weekend set aside to honor Martin Luther King, Jr. (AP – Jan. 8, 2003)

Pearland resident and longtime bigot, I’m sorry, I mean longtime Matt friend, said the 18th was the only weekend the Lions Club was available. An unreliable source indicated that he went on to say that the Lodge at Stone Mountain, Georgia was booked for various judicial events from Jan. to Aug. 2003.

It was rumored that the cost of the $6-a-plate barbeque included the burning of a cross to the sound of “Let the Good Times Roll.” For an additional $2 contribution, the attendees were provided with a miniature Confederate Flag

If Matt used the following phrases when dealing with inmates, he might still be on the bench.

Sir, with all due respect, I would like to inform you that I have been assigned as the judge in your case. Now, hopefully you’re not gonna act like the grandson of a plantation employee who was rightfully, I’m sorry, I mean unlawfully enslaved on a local cotton plantation.

Subsequently, the judicial commission suspended Matt from the bench without pay.

It’s rumored that he is presently employed as a paralegal for the NAACP.
