Attorney Paul Bieber of Davenport, IA; convicted felon

The state of Iowa presented Paul J. Bieber with a law license in 1980 after he graduated from the University of Iowa School of Law.

The Iowa Supreme Court Attorney Disciplinary Board found Paulie guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Pled guilty to misprison (deliberate concealment) of a felony
  • Helped in facilitating fraudulent real estate transaction wherein sales price overstated by $55,000
  • Failed to disclose a material fact to a third person when disclosure is necessary to avoid assisting a criminal or fraudulent act by a client
  • Failed to withdraw from the representation if the client persists in a course of action involving his services that he reasonably believed was criminal or fraudulent
  • Knowingly made a false statement of fact to a third person
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice law

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Iowa Supreme Court punished Paulie by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. September 2019), Paulie practices at with Gomez May LLP at 2322 East Kimberly Road in Davenport, Iowa.
