Attorney Tametha Barker of Amarillo, TX; ethical goblin

The state of Texas presented Tametha D’Lyn Barker with a law license in 2009 after she graduated from Texas Tech University School of Law.

The District 13 Grievance Committee found Tammy guilty of the following misconduct.

• Neglected divorce matter entrusted to her
• Failed finalize client’s divorce case
• Failed to keep client informed of status of matter
• Failed to comply with client information requests
• Ordered to pay $1,000.00 in restitution to her client

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Tammy by gifting her with a complimentary stayed 2-year suspension of her law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Texas Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Tammy.
