Attorney James Allen of Cheektowaga, NY; ethical leprechaun

The state of New York presented James F. Allen with a law license in 1971 after he graduated from the the State University of New York (SUNY) Buffalo School of Law.

The Judicial Department Committee on Professional Standards found Jimmy guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice law
  • Accepted or continued employment when exercise of professional judgment could reasonably may be affected by Jimmy’s personal financial interests
  • Engaged in a prohibited business transaction with client
  • Failed to decline employment when required to so act
  • Commingled client funds with personal funds
  • Failed to maintain client funds in special account
  • Failed to promptly pay funds to client that client was entitled to receive
  • Failed to maintain required financial records

As a consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Professional Standards Committee punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary censure.

As we speak (ca. September 2019), Jimmy practices with James F. Allen PLLC at 100 Moorman Drive in Cheektowaga, New York.
