Attorney Maria Mendoza of Philippines; ethical goblin

The Philippine Supreme Court provided Maria Vilma Mendoza with a law license in 1990 after she graduated from the University of the Philippines School of Law.

The Integrated Bar of the Philippines found Maria guilty of the following misconduct, which took place while she was employed with the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO).

• Provided irresponsible advice to her clients
• Counseled or abetted activities aimed at defiance of the law or at lessening confidence in the legal system
• Failed to impress upon his client compliance with the laws and the principles of fairness

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Republic of the Philippines Supreme Court punished Maria by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.
