Judge Susan Bryant-Deason of Los Angeles; incompetent boob

The state of California presented Susan Bryant-Deason  with a law license in  1978 after she graduated from the Southwestern University School of Law.

San Joaquin is a 4^th tier law school that is dedicated to accepting losers that could not obtain acceptance at mainstream schools such as UC Davis, University of San Francisco or USC.   

It should be noted that Suzie has had her significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for the past forty-two (42) years. Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the greater Los Angeles area was about to offer Suzie a good paying job.

In one matter, Suzie presided over a case wherein the plaintiff, attorney Samuel Reece sought sanctions  based on the two defendants litigating the case while their corporate charters were under suspension. Reece’s motion was pursuant to Code of Civil Procedure §128.7 which authorizes “an order directing payment to the movant of some or all of the reasonable attorney’s fees and other expenses incurred as a direct result of the violation.”

In an utter display of ignorance, Suzie granted Reece’s motion and awarded him $5,000.00 in sanctions against the two opposing parties. Shortly thereafter, the defendants appealed Suzie’s asinine ruling to the local Court of Appeal. In reversing Suzie’s absurd ruling, the Court stated in part:

• “Reece, who was self-represented, did not show that he incurred any attorney fees or other expenses.”
• “Reece’s moving declaration merely requested ‘a monetary sanction of $5,000...to deter repetition of such conduct.”
• “Due to Reece’s failure to establish that he incurred any attorney fees or other expenses…, the trial court lacked statutory authority to award Reece monetary sanctions in any amount.”

Making Suzie’s $5,000 award to Mr. Reece even more egregious and proof of her incompetency is the fact that he voluntarily resigned his law license on May 21, 2000 while misconduct charges were pending against him, a fact that Suzie knew or clearly should have known when she ignorantly awarded him $5,000 almost nineteen (19) years after his resignation.

It goes without saying that Suzie doesn’t much give a damn when she’s overturned (rebuked in truth) by the appellate court since she is well aware that no California judge has ever been tossed off the bench for being incompetent.

As we speak (ca. April 2019) Suzie continues to sit as a Los Angeles County Superior Court judge in Los Angeles, California.
