Attorney Ronald Zaldin of Toronto, CAN; ethical troll

The Law Society of Upper Canada presented Ronald Victor Zaldin with a law license in 2015 after he graduated from York University School of Law.

The Law Society of Upper Canada Disciplinary Committee found Ronnie guilty of the following misconduct.

• Engaged in an egregious conflict of interest
• Engaged in professional misconduct
• Represented his nephew, his twin’s son, in high-conflict divorce and custody proceedings, which involved participation by the Office of the Children’s Lawyer (OCL) and a mediator
• Improperly communicated with the OCL, while intentionally excluding the lawyer for the other side – By trying to enlist the OCL in support of his position, he
• Interfered with the OCL’s neutrality
• Violated the integrity of the mediation process when he conveyed confidential information to the OCL about what had happened in mediation
• Failed to treat the opposing party, opposing counsel and the OCL honorably

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Upper Law Society Committee punished Ronnie by gifting him a complimentary reprimand and assessed him with $2,000.00 in costs regarding the ethics investigation.
