Attorney Christopher Hartwyk of Jersey City, NJ; convicted liar

The state of New Jersey presented Christopher M. Hartwyk with a law license in 1985 after he graduated from Seton Hall University School of Law.

The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Chris guilty of the following misconduct.

  • The New Jersey Office of Attorney Ethics found Chris guilty of the following misconduct.
  • Convicted in the Criminal Court of the City of New York to offering a false instrument for filing, a second-degree misdemeanor
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice
  • Filed a letter with his supervisor, General Counsel for the Port Authority, which falsely represented that a law firm retained by the Port Authority was providing the Port Authority with a discount on its legal work

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court punished Chris by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. April 2018) Chris practices in Jersey City, New Jersey.
