Attorney Melvin Neisner, Jr. of Killington, VT; convict, idiot
A couple of years ago, Melvin Neisner was involved in an automobile accident. As a result of the accident, Melvin was charged with several crimes. After a jury trial, Melvin was convicted of a felony charge of impeding a police officer and of giving a false report to a law enforcement officer.
Shortly after his criminal conviction, the Vermont Attorney Discipline Board filed misconduct charges against Melvin.
As a consequence of his felonious conduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Board recommended that Melvin receive a complimentary 1-year suspension of his law license.
Being the moron that he clearly is, Melvin appealed the Board’s decision to the Vermont Supreme Court. Upon review of Melvin’s laughable appeal, the Court concluded that his crimes were “serious.” The Court then increased the suspension to two-years.
It is disheartening to know that felons are allowed to practice law in Vermont. I suppose it wouldn’t be fair to Melvin if the Court permanently disbarred him because in doing so they would be denying him an opportunity to earn a dishonest living as an attorney, right?
